Description Of Work: Hang and finish drywall in basement, approximately 250 linear feet.  Included delivery of material, movement to basement, hang drywall, finish and cleanup.

Comments: Tom visited the site prior to quoting.  He spent a fair amount of time assessing the project and discussing the details.  The key motivator in selecting TAK was Tom's understanding of his trade and willingness to make helpful suggestions throughout the process.  For example, he showed how he could use wider wall board to give me several extra inches of ceiling height.  His advice was not limited to just the drywall but to many other aspects of my project such as how to cut away around the stairs, details of ceiling installation, etc etc.  While his mainstay is drywall and ceilings, he's well versed in other aspects of construction.  I'm glad I had someone who was able/willing to think outside the box instead of simply implementing my plan.  (I did my research but I'm not experienced in construction.)

As to the actual job, Tom and his crew did a great job.  They apply 3 coats of mud (many drywallers just do 2 coats) and the finish is near perfect.  The area under the steps was a bit tricky and they took the time to make it look great.  The area around the furnace/AC was very tight, yet they got the wall board in and affixed.  I appreciate how tough this was to do now that I'm painting it.  Tom quoted 6 days but was finished in 5 days.  And, he did this without cutting corners or compromising on the quality.  The other quotes I got were for 2-3 weeks.

Tom's price was about 5% higher than the lowest quote I got but was much lower than the highest bid.  When I do another drywall project, I'm not sure I'll even mess with quotes.  I'll just call Tom.  I know I'll get a fair price and top quality and service.

Hi Tom.  I had to take a moment to compliment you on both John and Larry.  As I told you, I can be kind of a pain (I'm sure Corey has more colorful words), and I know I'm not the easiest to please, but John and Larry made me soooooooo completely comfortable and pleased.  I can't say a bad thing about Larry - great guy.  However, I have to tell you what an asset you have in John.  OUTSTANDING customer relation skills, communicates at a superior level (he was always one step ahead of me), great sense of humor, personable and beyond competent.  I was telling all of this to Corey and he encouraged me to let you know directly.  BOTH of them passed the "tomato test" (i even put a bunch of bananas out, too - confident they'd be fine).  John won me over when I was leaving to get my son from school and he had a broom and dust pan in his hand!!!!!  (and I can tell he's brainy - which, as a math geek myself, I appreciate.)

Description Of Work: Repaired cracked off angle at peaks of sloped ceiling with Magic Corner Expansion bead by Trim-Tex Corporation, repaired some water damage and repainted the entire sloped ceiling which runs the entire first floor

Description Of Work: Replaced Popcorn Ceiling, Took down old paneling and removed brick and mirrors from dining room

We could not be more pleased with the total service we received from TAK Drywall.  Tom Rothengass, the owner came out very promptly for the initial estimate.  He was very thorough and professional.  We discussed what was to be done and how we were hoping to save the trim in each of the rooms being worked on.  The very next day we received via email a detailed quote for the work to be performed.  His quote was in the range we were looking for and so we agreed to have TAK do the work.  I cannot tell you how pleased we were that we went with drywall specialists rather than a handyman at this point.  The first day Johnny and Larry came and completely covered our hard wood floors and then removed the paneling.  Next they worked on the removal of the brick wall which also had mirrors grouted to them.  The next day they came back and put up the new drywall.  They said they would arrive early and were there as expected.  The following days, Jeff and TJ came and taped and mudded the new drywall.  they came back each day (again on time) and sanded and reapplied the finish.  Throughout all this, they kept the dust down as much as humanly possible by vacuuming as they went along.  After that Johnny came back and reinstalled the trim and well as vacuumed again.  My husband and I felt that these were professionals who cared about their work and our home as though it was theirs.  today, when our painter and his crew arrived, they also commented  on the quality of the work that TAK did.  I think it speaks volumes when one professional praises another.

I just want you to know how very satisfied I was with the wall patching in my basement and the gentlemen who did it. The work is so excellent, one would never know there was a problem. Member Comments: They are probably not the cheapest but you tend to get what you pay for and if you use this company, you will not have to worry about your project being done correctly.  With that said, the project went very smoothly.  All appointments were kept, the crew was careful, clean, and respectful.  The company and employees did an outstanding job and I would highly recommend them. I have used them for other minor work and will continue to use them going forward.

Description Of Work: TAK Drywall Specialists Inc tore out wallpaper and did drywall patching.

Comments: They did fine. They did a good job. I liked them. The workers were courteous. Everything is holding up good. It was a bit too pricey.

Description Of Work: Dry-walled a 25x20 two car garage. Installed four walls and ceiling with 5/8" drywall and insulated walls. Put one coat of mud over seams. Upgraded from R13 to R15 in the walls.

Comments: Excellent quotation, scheduling and installation processes. Tom met every commitment that he committed to. TAK's tradesmen are professional and efficient. They started the job at 7:30 (was on time) and completed by about 2PM. The job was a fair price and quality work. Quite frankly, no bad experience in the entire process.

Description Of Work: I gutted a 14 x 22 family room including the ceiling down to the wall studs. Had new drywall put in, taped and sanded. Ready for priming.

Comments: Tom called promptly after I submitted my request. He was able to quote the job over the phone without even seeing the room. I signed a contract and had new drywall up within a week. Tom and his crew did a wonderful job as there were some challenging areas around the fireplace and built in TV. Another big plus was that I didn't lose my internet service, as it is all wired through that room. Tom even mopped the floor on the last day to keep the dust down. Very professional company, worked consistently (not off a day here or there), kept to their price. Would highly recommend them!

Description Of Work: They delivered and installed drywall to a second story bonus room. The delivery was on time and they used the second floor window to bring in the drywall materials. This greatly minimized dirt and mess in our home. The crew showed up as promised to install, tape and mud the dry wall. They did a great job as well. The second, final coats of mud and sanding was done by the owner. They vacuumed and cleaned up extremely well.

Comments: We were thoroughly pleased with the finished product. The price was as quoted with no hidden fees. They were very fair and a great value for our dollar.
